Learn To Play - Level I
This level is designed to introduce basic Hockey skills for your child. Sessions focus on the fundamentals of Hockey : Forward and backward skating, Stick Handling, Shooting and Passing.
Fifty minute sessions are held at the Janas Rink every 6 weeks from October to March. The cost is $50 per session.
HELMET, MITTENS/GLOVES, AND SKATES ARE REQUIRED.
KNEE AND ELBOW PADS ARE RECOMMENDED.
Rental Skates are available. (However you must be at the rink no later the 9:30 to rent)
In-House Hockey
This level is for children 4-10 who have a strong interest
in learning to play hockey. Emphasis is on skating forward
and backward, stopping and starting, passing and shooting,
and the fundamentals of the game.
Players are introduced to the game by scrimmaging against
other in-house teams.
One hour practice sessions are held at the Janas Rink 2-3 times
per week from September to March. Games begin in December (one
per week). Some games may require travel to other town rinks.
The cost is $700 per season plus a $100 non-refundable deposit.
Sibling discount and payment plans are available.
FULL HOCKEY EQUIPMENT IS REQUIRED.
Travel Hockey
This level is for the developing hockey enthusiast.
Teams are formed based on age and ability according
to USA Hockey rules.
One hour practice sessions are held at the Janas Rink 2-3 times
per week from September to March. Teams will also play 50-60
games at various rinks throughout Eastern Massachusetts and
Southern New Hampshire.Currently, the GLYSA competes in
the Valley Hockey League.
The cost for the 2008-2009 season is $1675 plus a $100 non-refundable deposit.

FULL HOCKEY EQUIPMENT IS REQUIRED.
