PEEWEE B TEAM ADVANCES IN DISTRICT PLAYDOWN TOURNAMENT!!

The PeeWee B team won their first game in the District 10 Playdown Tournament held at the Laconte Rink in Medford. The Hawks faced Medford in a nail-biting, edge-of-your-seat thriller! Trailing 1-0 after one period, Patrick Florence netted one for the tie in the second period. Marcus Cahill gave a solid performance in net - facing 42 shots. Still tied after regulation, the game went to a five-minute sudden-death overtime. Five seconds into the overtime, Florence broke in off the face-off to score the winning goal. "The kids played their hearts out"   commented head coach Fran Cahill.  "They deserved this win!"     The PeeWee B team advances to round 2 on Saturday, in Somerville at 2:00pm. The finals, also held in Somerville, will be played Sunday afternoon.
